Coat the skillet with the olive oil, and add the chicken to the skillet. Add the basil, thyme, pepper, and salt. Stir well to season the chicken evenly.
Cook for 3-5 minutes until the chicken looks mostly white from the top.
Flip the chicken pieces over. Continue cooking for an additional 3-5 minutes.
When the juices start drying up and the chicken is browning on the top, flip the pieces over again. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to brown the other side.
Check that the chicken pieces are cooked all of the way through. There should be no pink.
If the skillet is too crowded, it’s difficult to cook all of the pieces evenly, and they will have a less intense flavor. To save time on meal prep, cook enough chicken for a few meals/dishes at the same time.
Add to a salad for protein.
Serve with pasta or zucchini noodles.
Use as a pizza topping.
