  1. To make a simple syrup, combine sugar, salt and 1 cup water in a small pot. Bring to a boil. Stir, and reduce heat to medium high. Stir occasionally until sugar is dissolved, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Add the mint leaves. Let the simple syrup cool.
  3. Pass the lemon juice and lime juice through a strainer into a pitcher. Add the remainder of the water and ½ cup + 2 Tbsp of the simple syrup.
  4. Chill.

Notes:

Any extra simple syrup can be stored for 2 days in the refrigerator.  Leaving the mint leaves in the simple syrup with make the mint flavor more pronounced in the next drink.

Serving Suggestions:

  1. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
  2. Garnish with a slice of lime.
